Description
The primary goal of the Control and Monitoring part of the Evolutionary Prototype in PI#3 is to be able to create, with a text editor, a simple scheduling block as one or more files that then is executed by the Execution Tool, resulting in control over the following interfaces:
- TM-Simulated DIsh
- TM-CSP (and partially mocked CBF)
- TM-SDP
The scheduling block should execute a simple scan where
- The telescopes are configured to slew from their current location to a source at a nominal RA, Dec.
- The correlator is configured to have a simple imaging mode.
- The SDP SIP is configured to accept data.
The purpose is not to actually execute anything any lower than the sub-array controller in DISH, CSP and SDP, just to run through the observing state machine and test our assumptions about the whole observing model.
There should be a user interface that shows the essential state changes that happen to the systems during the test (rather than using low level ATK panels as in PI#2)
Ideally, as a stretch, the following would also happen:
- Scan is started.
- Data flows as a static set of SPEAD packets from a mock of CBF to SDP and gets stored as a measurement set.
- The scan completes after a short time (say 10 seconds).
