      Benefit hypothesis
      Enable AIV and AA0.5 Science Commissioning activities that aim to test and analyse the capability to form a single tied-array beam, aligned with the centre (boresight) of the station beam.

      What?

      • The goal in AA0.5 is to configure a subarray to form a single PST beam and capture data in PST.

      What is required:

      • OSO scripting functions and (template/example) observation scripts produced to run an observation to capture tied-array beamformer data.
      • TMC schema and logic updated to interpret, coordinate and monitor an observation involving the tied-array beamformer mode of the Low CBF with data capture in the PST.
      • CSP.LMC schema and logic updated to interpret, coordinate and monitor an observation involving the tied-array beamformer mode of the Low CBF with data capture in the PST.
      • SDP to provide tied-array calibration for a single bore-sight tied array beam.
      • Delay polynomials required to integrate are provided by SP-4028.

      This Capability was de-scoped in PI22 due to lack of Capacity in TMC and LOW ITV Teams. Work will continue in PI23.

      PI22 Plan

      • LOW CBF and PST configuration schema updated.
      • LOW CBF able to forma single PST beam at the boresight.
      • PST able to receive and capture the beamformed data.
      • CSP.LMC schema and logic updated to interpret, coordinate and monitor an observation involving the tied-array beamformer mode of the Low CBF with data capture in the PST.
      • Integration will be performed in the LOW PSI.
      • TMC component that calculates and publishes delay polynomials in ADR-88 format will be deployed in the LOW PSI (as delivered by https://jira.skatelescope.org/browse/SS-121).
      • Test execution will be via a Jupyter notebook which will configure and control TMC DM Generator and CSP.LMC.
