      Having an SRCNet managed FTS instance will allow us to i) reduce overhead in asynchronous communications with the CERN pilot team (who own the instance of FTS we're currently using) ii) reduce security issues with passing credentials e.g. s3 to external organisations and iii) allow us to, at a later date, explore how FTS may be configured best to cater for SKAO data transfers within the datalake.

      AC1: Ensure FTS instance is configured to meet SRCNet requirements

      AC2: Integrate FTS with SKA IAM, and configure additional tools to be able to submit a transfer request directly to FTS using token authentication

    Description

      We have been working on an FTS deployment since PI17, to see the benefit we need to have this up and running, with test transfers between selected SRCNet endpoints proven via this instance.

      The hosts making up the instance have been deployed, configuration to meet the needs of SRCNet (S3 endpoint transfers, IAM integration) needs to be finalised and tested.

      Tests used to prove the working function of the instance should be incorporated into the src gitlab space.
