Description
The SKA Observatory networks need to be independent from the UMAN networks before the SKA Observatory reaches IGO status. The SKA Observatory must have full control of their network infrastructure. The SKA Observatory will rely heavily on external connectivity to the telescope sites and cloud resources, and therefore requires a reliable and stable connection to the outside world.
Work with UMAN and JISC to define a number of options that will allow all entities at the Jodrell Bank Observatory to have redundant and reliable external connectivity whilst allowing the SKA Observatory to become independent of the UMAN network infrastructure.
Create a document that describes each option, and its associated costs, and include a recommended solution.

This feature is a clone of SP-83. SP-83 was unable to be completed due to a lack of progress with the University of Manchester and JISC. A draft proposal has been created but more information is required in order to complete this document. The following information is still required:
- Define the requirements for JBO and the Discovery Centre
- Create detailed physical and logical network diagrams
- Define the interfaces between each party
- Define the responsibilities of each party
- Define the ownership of UoM equipment within the SKA building
- Provide estimate timescales for implementation
- Provide costs and define who will pay what
Once the above information has been defined, the proposal document can be completed.
