Dish engineering user interface

Convenient and easy control and monitoring of Dish for integrators, testers and commissioners.

Effective and engaging way of demonstrating Dish LMC related features during system demo's.

(During PI16, before the existence of a dashboard, inability to visualise the state and status variables of the different devices proved to be a significant impediment)

A user interface for Dish is available. 

Visualisation content for current attribute values:

• Communication status of DishManager with the TANGO devices of the Dish subsystems.
• TANGO device state, healthState, dishMode and operating modes of DS, SPF & SPFRx.
• Dish capability status.
• The selected band.
• achievedPointing reported by DSManager and DishManager.
• capturing reported by SPFRx and DishManager.
• Progress of long running commands.
• versions of software as reported by TANGO devices.
• The SKA Dish ID.

Visualisation for historic attribute values:

• content: to be determined by this feature,
• graph with values on the y-axis and time on the x-axis,
• more than one attribute value on the same graph.  

For DevEnum attribute types the enumeration label should be displayed.

Dashboard controls:

• at least invoke TANGO commands of DishManager,
• as a stretch invoke TANGO commands of DsManager, SPF Controller device and SPFRx Controller device.
• display error/exceptions returned.

A user interface for Dish:

• can be used for Dish LMC testing, integration with TMC MID and integration with Dish Subsystems,
• was demonstrated at https://confluence.skatelescope.org/display/SE/2023-04-20+OMC+ART+System+Demo+18.3,
• has Taranta files accessible here in ska-dish-lmc repo,
• displays visualisation content for current attribute values, 
• displays visualisation for historic attribute values,
• provides controls via TANGO commands,
• display error/exceptions returned on commands.
