      In order to support the development, operation and maintenance of the AA0.5 ITF Platform Environments, A solution is required for the initial software provisioning on the physical hardware within the cluster.  This includes configuring switches, networks, and bootstrapping compute nodes with the initial OS load, before customisation via Ansible.

      This process can be achieved through using the bootstrapping tools and techniques provided by OpenStack Kayobe (with OS Bifrost+Ironic), which will provide additional benefits of providing the groundwork for applying the same processes to the deployment of the AA0.5 production cluster environments.

      Scripting and documentation resources are assembled to automate the delivery of the ITF platform environments based on baremetal  deployed through OS Bifrost and Ironic:

      • node discovery
      • initial OS install
      • bootstrapping Ansible customisation for each node profile.
