Infrastructure Management test and training environment

In order to support the development, operation and maintenance of the different Platform Environments (https://confluence.skatelescope.org/display/SWSI/Platform+layered+view+AA0.5#PlatformlayeredviewAA0.5-PlatformLayers) required in the different PIS, ITF, and AA0.5 contexts, it would be helpful to have a test and training facility that can enable the Platform Team to build and test platform features in isolation from any productive environment.

This facility would ideally be physical hardware (switch(es)/router(s), compute nodes, storage, GPUs) for the most complex and vendor specific scenarios, but can be virtualised as a pragmatic intermediate solution.

A set of resources are identified that can support multiple concurrent infrastructure clusters for the purposes of testing infrastructure management and core services scenarios.

Scripting and documentation resources are assembled to automate the delivery of (simulations of ) the three main platform environments:

• Baremetal deployed through OS Bifrost and Ironic
• Baremetal + KVM deployed through OS Bifrost and Ironic
• OpenStack deployed from baremetal using Kayobe+Kolla

• Baremetal deployed through OS Bifrost and Ironic - scripted and documented

Deployment process for using Kayobe/Bifrost/Ironic to bootstrap hardware is well understood and documented.

A test deployment pipeline has been established for our config
