This feature must be completed in order to implement capability SS-27 and decisions made in  ADR-8.

Further prototyping and testing of the subarray interface further mitigates the high-level risk of addressing key system-level element interfaces particularly around control and scheduling of the telescope that were not possible to explore by the pre-construction design consortia.

Recoverability for subarray devices (and associated resources) is a critical function and quality of the SDP system, as well as the SKA software system as a whole and the interface exposed in the Subarray Tango device is a very important part of establishing this.

      • SDP Subarray device implements Abort and Restart commands as described in ---ADR-8---. (Implementation of Reset a useful addition if time permits.)
      • These commands are demonstrated and tested as part the SKAMPI deployment including contribution to the development of system-level BDD tests of these functions
      • Solution intent, user and developer documentation updated to reflect changes / addition to the interface and behaviour.

    Description

See description in ADR-8 and https://confluence.skatelescope.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=105416556) and capability SS-27 for details.

It is strongly suggested that code updates related to this feature are implemented by the end of sprint 4 (at the latest) to allow for integration into SKAMPI and allow sufficient time for collaborating on integration with other elements and contribution to the development of system level tests.
