Simulations tools capable of generating visibility data with simple tropospheric corruptions (SKA1-Mid) and ionospheric corruptions (SKA1-Mid, SKA1-Low) will be required in order to generate the data sets needed for evaluation and development of processing workflows with DD corrections.

The capability for simulating observations with ionospheric and tropospheric corruptions is available in OSKAR and RASCIL. The documentation for both libraries, which is linked from the developer portal, includes an example script to show how this capability can be exercised:

    Description

Develop and demonstrate capability for simple ionospheric and tropospheric corruptions when generating SKA1 simulated data sets.

Outcome: Capability for simulation of ionospheric and tropospheric corruptions of SKA1 simulated data sets developed, demonstrated, and made available as part of onboarded SKA simulation tools.
