      • As an AIV Engineer, I want the QA display to be smooth and responsive when running it at AA0.5 scale (four stations/dishes), and not to overwhelm the network with data.

      1. Metric generator sends decimated data to the display by default (with the degree of decimation being configurable in the processing script).
      2. Metric generator can be configured to send a subset of the data in higher resolution (maybe not full resolution) upon request.
      3. Display user is able to select which subset of the data they wish to see in higher resolution (which requires a control channel from display to processing).
      4. Display is able to show the higher-resolution subset of the data.
      5. Stretch: Design is able to scale to multiple metric generators to support distributed receive.

      The QA display currently requires that all of the visibility data be sent from the receiver to the display. We are already encountering problems with the performance and the amount of data that is transmitted at AA0.5 scale. They will only get worse as the number of baselines and frequency channels increases.
