    Description

The SKA Dishes will be qualified in the Dish Verification System (DVS) before they are integrated in the SKA MID array. The DVS uses the MeerKAT proprietary protocol (KATCP) for component monitoring and control and will require the Dish Proxy to interface with the TANGO device server implementing Dish interface (Dish LMC). Early work carried out in PI21 identified some gaps in the Dish Proxy to enable this integration.

The goal of this feature is to update the current implementation of the Dish Proxy to:

      • achieve successful connection and subscription to events on the Dish LMC interface without errors
      • expose all the tango commands as katcp sensors
      • successfully send katcp requests as tango commands
      • execute a number of test procedures using the Dish Proxy

      For PI24:

      • Complete Dish Proxy interface for commands to Dish LMC
        • Currently not all commands are available
      • Execute existing tests in MeerKAT pipeline against Dish LMC
      • Begin to map out setup and deployment of the components for acceptance testing in DVS (with dependencies and teams identified)
