Demonstrate deployment and interoperability of multiple software versions

Given the size, complexity and need for high Observatory availability during its Construction and Operations, it is fundamental that the deployment of Control software updates, patches and so on require as less human intervention as possible to avoid unnecessary delays and mistakes.

This kind of automatic deployment is generally feasible, and it is a pretty common feature in commercial systems. Nevertheless, some technical solutions need to be investigated and selected:

• Scale of deployment
• Experiment TANGO deployment on containers in production-like environment (interaction with Tango-container, Tango in containers, scalability properties, etc).
• Deployment strategy of TANGO device servers and accompanying devices on containers and container nodes
• Semantic versioning of software, services (APIs), and containers
• Deployment and interoperability of multiple software versions
• Early identification of pitfalls
• …
