Important to have DAQ to file utilising GPU accelerated hardware though industry standard tools. CUDA is the current standard and so MCCS DAQ needs to be able to support its use.

The work necessary for streaming into the GPU correlator was completed. This included refactoring of the DAQ RX between repositories to facilitate use with CUDA, allowing recompilation of the DAQ library with GPU correlator support enabled. Testing was enhanced further to support this.

Work on the deployment culminated in a workshop session running the subrack hardware along with the GPU-enabled DAQ RX. This resulted in the TPM sending data and the GPU correlator being configured to receive data. However, because of networking restrictions we were not able to demonstrate actual reception of the data, although we do expect this to work were the TPMs and server on the same physical 1-Gb network. We expect to demonstrate this following suitable reconfiguration.

    Description

This feature extends the earlier work on DAQ to file. This evolution of the DAQ to File capability should aim to employ GPU hardware when it is available using the current standards. At the time of writing this is CUDA.
