      Existing MeerKAT Dish Proxy software in Gitlab repo because Gitlab is used in the SKA Software project. Karoo team getting existing MeerKAT Dish Proxy to run is a first step towards assessing it for reuse in SKA project. It is expected that changes will be made to the MeerKAT Dish Proxy software to make it suitable to integrate SKA Dishes with the Dish Verification System.

    Description

      The Dish Verification Assembly SKA-Dish Proxy will be needed to integrate SKA Dish into Dis Verification System. Find out possibility reuse / adaptation of existing Dish Proxy (used to integrate existing MID Dishes into the DVS). https://github.com/ska-sa/mkat-tango exists to translate between KATCP (protocol used in the DVS) and TANGO (protocol of Dish interface). This integration needs to be done in ~ 1 year's time. Dishes will be integrated into DVS before they are integrated into the SKA MID array.  See the diagram in https://confluence.skatelescope.org/display/SE/2022-10-05+Dish+LMC+Weekly+Meeting+notes

      This enabler to have the existing MeerKAT Dish Proxy run in a pipeline of a (new) SKA Gitlab repository.
