According to the current schedule a simulator for the Dish Structure interface with DISH LMC will be delivered by CETC54 by mid June 2023. It would be very useful to install the simulator in the sITF as soon as it becomes available, and to make atleast some attempt to integrate DISH.LMC with the DS M&C Simulator, so that we can provide feedback to CETC54.

Dish LMC with new DS Simulator installed in MID System ITF.

A small set of tests manual or from CI/CD pipeline executed against Dish LMC + DS Simulator. The set of tests to be executed has still to be determined.

It is possible to update the pointing static model via the Dish LMC.

Feedback to CETC54 provided.

Description

Dish LMC's DsManager TANGO device will interface with the DS Simulator and translate its protocol to TANGO. Dish LMC's DishManager TANGO device interfaces with DsManager.

The CETC54 DS Simulator, DSManager and DishManager need to be integrated. Changes to DsManager and possibly to DishManager may be required as a result of the new DS Simulator.

Ensure the Dish LMC exposes access to the static part of the Dish pointing model, in particular to facilitate updating the offsets in support of the proposed scheme for implementing 5-point scans, using the method trackDelayStaticOff (see SOL G4).

Deploy Dish LMC (with new DS simulator and DsManager) in MID ITF.
