      A Dish Structure simulator is part of ska-dish-lmc.

      The simulator scope is defined by what is required from it by DishManager.

    Description

      The DSManager (a TANGO device that is part of Dish LMC) will interface with the Dish Structure Controller. DSManager translates between TANGO and the bespoke application protocol on TCP/IP that the Dish Structure Controller implements. This simulator simulates the DS Controller.

      The scope of the simulator is limited to:

      • what is required by the current Dish LMC component tests,
      • deficiencies identified in KAR-435,
      • issues identified here,
      • any increase in scope of Dish LMC brought about by SP-2668,
      • implement what is required by DSManager to implement the achievedPointing attribute.

      Behaviour may either be implemented in the simulator itself or by providing a mechanism for the status values of the DS Controller to be changed at run-time via an interface.
