    Description

Architectural decision need to be made on functional allocation w.r.t. coordinate transformation and pointing corrections (TMC MID / Dish LMC / Dish Structure) for MID.

This is needed because there are conflicting views about the allocation in SKA1 Pre-construction documents, for instance:

      • The Dish LMC requirement, R.LMC.CC.14, causes duplication of function between TM MID and Dish LMC. See TM MID requirement TM_REQ_111 (The SKA1_Mid TM shall, for each Dish instance, convert astronomical source positions in iCRS coordinates to pointing coordinates in the Dish Coordinate Reference Frame) - refer 303-000000-001 Rev 03. The Control Dish Pointing (which includes correcting for refraction and converting Ra/Dec to Az/El) is allocated to TM MID - see section 5.6.1.3 and Figure 20. SKA‐TEL‐SKO‐0000150, SKA1-MID Interface Control Document TM to DSH, Rev 04 (approved, in Alim) shows that pointing coordinates from TM MID to Dish are in Azimuth & Elevation coordinates using Horizon Coordinate System, in Dish Coordinate Reference Frame.

We want to update as required TM(C) to Dish ICD, Dish LMC requirements, TMC MID requirements to match the architectural decision, SKA-TEL-SKO-0000438 (Dish Pointing, Motion Behaviour and Control).
