Allocation of pointing correction and coordinate translation functions is documented as part of Solution Intent in Confluence: as per CDR documentation (Dish LMC not performing coordinate translation or pointing corrections).

Detailed mapping between the DISH state and mode indicators (and state machines) and the SKA state machine indicators is published in Solution Intent.

Dish LMC requirements in Jama are reviewed against the latest CS Guidelines (including simpler alarm system design) and SKA software design (for instance, logging being not part of TMC anymore, and look through ADRs that apply to Dish LMC).

The Solution Intent shows functional allocation for pointing for MID as per CDR documentation in ADR-57 and Functional allocation of pointing functions for Dish LMC and Dish Structure.

The Solution Intent contains the mapping between Dish states & modes and the SKA state machine indicators (as published in ADRs) in TMC MID to Dish LMC Control Interface - States. This was discussed with stakeholders and issues were logged.

Dish LMC requirements in Jama have comments relating to CS Guidelines and SKA Software design. See SAR-323 for details.

    Description

The following activities are needed before implementation can begin on Dish LMC software due to the Dish Structure changes and to ensure the design is refined and kept up to date:

      • evolve/maintain the Dish LMC requirements with the eye on updated CS Guidelines (including simpler alarm system design) and SKA software design (for instance, logging being not part of TMC anymore),
      • re-consider DISH.LMC design (review dsh-lmc-prototype design and support decisions on the re-allocation of pointing correction and ra/dec to az/el translation functions; ensure solution intent reflects decision),
      • detailed mapping between the DISH state and mode indicators (and state machines) and the SKA state machine indicators). This is needed so that TMC knows how to interpret DISH states and modes.
