SPFRx - Finalization of Compliance with Requirements Specifications

DSH SPFRx (Digitizer) RXPU uses the same TALON-DX card for communicating with digitizer modules located on the DSH indexer.  Software development in support of SPFRx123 furthers the DSH SPFRx123 project, and provides indirect benefit to common software elements shared by CIPA team. Software development required for SFPRx123 CDR has become critical path and requires CIPA team resources to make up schedule.  Rather than removing team members from CIPA, this software development work will moved into the scope of CIPA work.  Successful SPFRx123 CDR is a requirement for the DSH Element CDR.

The following criteria applies to all SPFRx Monitor and Control TANGO Device Servers:

• compliance with ICD specified states and modes requirements
• compliance with ICD specified logging and archiving requirements
• compliance with ICD specified alarm handling requirements
• compliance with ICD specified event and polling requirements

The results of effort spent during this feature is planned to be demonstrated during OMC ART System Demo #6.

Approximately half of the expected work was accomplished on this feature, primarily due to two factors:

1) Unexpected resource issues within the NRC software team

2) Unexpected effort to support getting the SPFRx system ready to ship to South Africa.

Work accomplished on this feature includes:

• Reviewing and updating the DSH LMC to SPFRx ICD to match implemented software
• Implement unit testing framework and writing custom tests
• Noise diode control
• 1PPS synchronization
• States and mode reports / control
• Configuring kernel and software for delivery to South Africa.

Uncompleted stories have been moved to SP-2343 and will be continued in PI14.
