      If we incorporate the domain experts code which simulates the transmission from time-dependent sources we can include realistic time-dependent RFI which will provide accurate simulations to test the data-processing pipelines.

      We have developed the interface to be able to use an example of an aeronautical RFI simulation as input the visibility simulation code. The preliminary results from that are here:

      This does not include the gain from the Mid far sidelobes. We need a model of this to integrate with the code. We expect this will be achieved as a improvement in sprint 11.5.

    Description

      Following on from work in SP-1587, this aims to incorporate the time-dependent aeronautical (and possibly satellite) code into the current RFI simulations tool. This will require adaptation of the simulations tool to work with MID configurations which will necessitate use of side-lobe beam patterns for the dishes or a way to approximate them.
