      A preliminary approach to configuration management of this infrastructure is developed and functional by the end of PI10. 

      The approach is discussed with operations in order to understand the best trade-off and possibly advance the integration of an existing EMS solution. 

      Information is provided to the software teams about what configuration information is necessary to be collected as part of automated test execution.

    Description

      We need to set up a process to track and especially update the HW +SW configuration as it evolves. This is important for the tracing of test errors, diagnostics, etc. It should also link up with the TMC configuration database (once this exists) and the current process for tracking SW configuration. We may also want to deploy a version of the Engineering Management System (EMS) in service of this.

      This Feature should consist of the following:

      • Spike (workshop) with relevant CM stakeholders (c.taljaard , s.nel , P.Harding etc) to define process and tools for CM management in PSI Low.
      • Analysis of workshop output, resulting in solid definition of process and tools for CM management in PSI Low.

      Clarification (added 16th April). The result of this objective should be a proposal containing a definition of required process and tools. The actual implementation of this can happen in PI11)
