A key diagnostic tool for the Mid Telescope is to verify that DSH data being received by CSP for each receptor contains the expected statistical distribution.  This firmware and software will allow users to monitor the histogram on the incoming stream of DSH samples.

Short design document written describing interfaces and requirements for the software that generates and reports input state-counts (for software running in HPS, API and GUI).

The wide band state count  shall conform to requirement L3-2149 g): state counts for samples received from receptors: as a minimum, developed from single-shot data capture of at least 1 million contiguous samples, at least every 30 s, for every receptor-digitized sampled data stream.

HPS Tango device software developed to monitor and control the IP block.

HPS software to generate state-count reports.

GUI that provides user friendly interface for monitor and control developed and demonstrated.

Feature demonstrated during System Demo #4.

Tango Client correctly interfaces with the TANGO Device device running on the TALON-DX Board STRATIX-10 HPS (Hard Processor System). The TANGO Device on HPS interacts with firmware to obtain captured data samples, and generate histogram.
Tango Client running on the laptop or server allows user to select parameters and set the TANGO Device running on HPS. TANGO Client subscribes to polling events and displays results. The Client (GUI) provides user with the relevant information.

The state count software is placed in the state count tango device repository on the DRAO Gitlab at: https://gitlab.drao.nrc.ca/SKA/Mid.CBF/SW/tango/dswbstatecount

    Description

TANGO Device Server software on the HPS to read the captured samples and compute state-counts on the data.

The wide band state count conforms to requirement L3-2149 g): state counts for samples received from receptors: as a minimum, developed from single-shot data capture of at least 1 million contiguous samples, at least every 30 s, for every receptor-digitized sampled data stream.

TANGO API that allows client to read and display state-counts.

GUI to interface to TANGO Device Server.

Test and prepare demonstration to be conducted during system demo #4.
