    Description

This feature deals with two problems of the way in which attributes are displayed.

      Wrapping of attribute string values.

In the some of the versions of the dashboards developed for the TMC system demo, there are several attributes whose values are truncated because the field area in which they are shown is too small. Some solution needs to be adopted so that they are either wrapped or even better if they can be scrolled left-right so that users can actually read them all.

      Acceptance criteria

      • a dashboard should let the user of the dashboard see the entire string value, even if the viewable field is smaller.

      Benefit:

      • improvement in the look&feel of dashboards, that would give a more professional look to the dashboards.

      Handling of attribute labels

The second thing is an enhancement of the way attributes are displayed. Also for coping with the case insensitive way with which Tango handles names of attributes and states, it would be good if a dashboard designer could decide to display the label of the attribute instead of its name. Thus Webjive needs to let the user specify to use the Label as an alternative to display the attribute name. It is the dashboard deisgner that should decide attribute by attribute what to display.

      Benefit:

      • improved look and feel and legibility of attributes
      • more general solution for webjive (since the attribute label is defined within the device definition, not within the dashboard)

      Acceptance criteria

      • the dashboard can display attribute names and/or
      • it can display attribute labels
