      The Tango OCI images are currently built in a way that closely couples build infrastructure and example Helm charts with the Tango build. The design of these images are making them difficult to support across multiple teams. Refactoring the images to instead be built in a layered approach with a hardened base image as a basis and Tango libraries and application on top will make these images more secure and maintainable.

    Description

      Refactor the ska-tango-images repo to separate the base OS and build infrastructure from the build of Tango OCI images.

      The Tango OCI images should instead be based upon a hardened base image provided by Team System in SP-4527.
