      Due to uncertainties regarding power supply and other environmentals such as temperature and airflow in the data centres, it is necessary to put protective measure in place to preserve the computing hardware so that it is not damaged by excess temperature or a disorderly shutdown due to power failure.

      Due to uncertainties regarding power supply and other environmentals such as temperature and airflow in the data centres, it is necessary to put protective measure in place to preserve the computing hardware so that it is not damaged by excess temperature or a disorderly shutdown due to power failure.

      In the Pawsey data centre:

      obtain a data feed from the environmental management system to monitor and execute the requirement for protective automated shutdown.

      In the TRPF:

      monitor temperature and power feeds from the UPS, cabinet/rack sensors, and compute nodes to trigger a protective automated shutdown for the MCCS.

      Both:

      Implement temperature safety thresholds in the BMC/BIOS of individual servers as a backup mechanism.
