Procurement and deployment plan for CNSRC v0.1

1. Enhanced Network Performance:

•Transfer Rate: Verifying that the network setup achieves a minimum of 2/5/10 Gbps transfer rate through multiple test campaigns (at least 10) will ensure consistent high-speed data transfers. This will improve the efficiency and speed of scientific data processing, reducing wait times and enhancing productivity for researchers.

2. Reliable and Scalable Storage Capacity:

•Storage Capacity: Ensuring the deployed storage system has at least 1/2 PB of usable space based on the V0.1 milestone and SRC-00000009-01 will provide ample space for current data storage needs. Testing for resilience and redundancy will ensure data integrity and availability, thereby minimizing the risk of data loss and downtime, which is critical for scientific workflows.

•User Storage: Allocating dedicated storage for user data to support v0.1 operation (approximately 0.1x storage capacity) will meet immediate needs while ensuring scalability to accommodate future growth. This will provide a reliable and scalable storage solution for user data, supporting the ongoing and future demands of the scientific community.

Acceptance Criteria -

1. A written plan is prepared that details the procurement and deployment plans, and current status, regarding the areas below.
2. SRCNet Program team say that they have had sufficient time to review the plans and feed back.
3. The Feature Owner accepts that the plans are "on track" to achieve v0.1 operations.

Network performace : 

• Measure the transfer rate
• A plan is in place to ensure that the network setup achieves a minimum of 10 Gbps (this number may change) transfer rate by early 2025
• The functionality is in place to run test campaigns to validate consistent performance in PI24

Storage capacity:

• Ensure that the deployed storage system had at least 1 PB of usable space by the start of 2025
• A plan is in place to uplift the available storage during v0.1 - establish the ongoing procurement mechanism
  (based on the V0.1 milestone and SRC-00000009-01)
• The functionality is in place (ready) to test for resilience and redundancy to handle data integrity and availability using science workflow

User storage:

• Allocate some dedicated storage for user data to support v0.1 operation (maybe 10% of storage capacity - confirm the figure)
• A plan is in place to allocate / procure / deploy addittional user storage to meet demand during v0.1
