The issues:

TMC teams are struggling with their CI/CD setup due to many issues

Developers do not have a complete understanding of all the tooling available to them for integration and debugging

System Team do not have a complete understanding of how TMC developers work

Due to distance and timezone issues, it's hard to efficiently address TMC related issues

In order to fix these issues, we need to focus on a collaboration effort that everyone agrees to achieve the objective (will be defined during PI22 Planning Week).

This will help the project by having:

TMC products being easier to debug and integrate with more subsystems

Improved Developer Experience

Improved tooling for integration, testing and debugging support

Have developer use-cases for integration, debugging TMC with one or more subsystem integration tests

Have a clearly defined process on how to create integration environments, where to find relevant debugging and application related configurations, informations, how to utilise SKAO tech stack of logging & monitoring

Implement and improve the development experience for TMC teams regarding Logging, Monitoring and Integration CI/CD Pipelines

Have a face to face workshop to socialise above information with at least one developer from each TMC teams present

Description

This feature outlines the steps required to achieve a seamless integration and verification of TMC with CI/CD, adhering to best practices. It is envisioned as a collaborative endeavor between the System and TMC teams, necessitating substantial preparatory work, including:

Identifying existing challenges
Determining and prioritizing use cases
Implementing required enablers

Subsequently, a face-to-face workshop will be convened.

The scope and details of these activities will be clarified throughout the Program Increment (PI), making it acceptable if the workshop is postponed to the early part of the next PI.
