Description

Currently metadata residing in the external database is not deleted when a DID or rule expires. This results in orphaned metadata entries.

Some work has been done towards this already, but this work needs to be completed and merged upstream. Related Rucio issue here: https://github.com/rucio/rucio/issues/5484.
