The benefit is that it is possible to design a dashboard that displays info coming from more than one facility. For example an overview dashboard that shows the health-status of the TMC along with the health-status of SDP and CSP.

    Description

At the moment a webjive dashboard can only "talk" to a single tango facility. Webjive should be extended to let the UI designer to "link" some widgets of the dashboard to some facility, other widgets to another one, and so on.

Workaround are possible, like defining a Tango facade (called Gateways) to integrate different facility into a single one, and link webjive to the gateway. However this requires additional work for Tango developers and therefore this kind of solution should be considered only as a workaround in case no other better solutions are found to be economically feasible and technically viable.

      See a discussion in https://confluence.skatelescope.org/x/1EJ0B

      Acceptance criteria

      • the UI developer can configure webjive to connect to one or more Tango facilities
      • devices of selected facilities are then visible in webjive and can be used to associate widgets
      • individual dashboards can host widgets that are associated to devices of different facilities
      • any kind of widget can be associated to devices of any facility
