    Description

      The aims are similar to Image Compression (TODO Link to image compression feature).

      We expect that very similar algorithm/strategy for compression as in the case of Image Compression could be straightforwardly applied, and we intend to do so.

      The significant difference is that visibilities do not provide, as images can, the number of significant digits. We intend to study this issue and provide an estimation strategy. A number of possibilities have been already suggested and will be explored.

      Work on the compression side can proceed by assuming ad hoc but realistic values for the number of significant digits.
