This feature will provide ideas to improve the SRCNet science platform, based on science user experiments.

This feature will demonstrate the feasibility that the magnetism science data challenge can take place on the SRCNet science platform (prototype) in ~mid 2024.

This feature will further demonstrate how user-made pipelines can be deployed in the SRCNet science platform (previous works; SP-3787 and SP-3786).

    Description

Magnetism (polarimetry) is one of the SKA key science goals and a magnetism tutorial school will be held in Japan with support of JPSRC mini-SRC network demonstrator (MSND) (OpenStack + K8s + CANFAR) in the 12th-13th of February 2024. This tutorial can be utilized to examine the functionality of JPSRC MSND and is a good opportunity to obtain feedback of user experiences. Since magnetism is a candidate of SDC4, this feedback collection is very useful to foresee issues to be faced in SDC4. RM-tools, which has been used in a SKA precursor project (POSSUM) and will be used in this tutorial, is not containerized yet. Creation of a container image for RM-tools, similar to the work that was done for SP-3787 and SP-3786, make it possible to deploy it on the MSND science platform.
