In order to support system and service observability, it is necessary to establish a system of logging/monitoring/alerting for platform and services (target key components - storage, networking, compute). These views of current infrastructure operational state need to be at an aggregate level so that the growing inventory can be effectively managed. To do this, custom alerts, metrics, and dashboards are required that give a summary view at the data centre level
