      The new version parameter is available from the controller device for each subarray, and will be updated if a new version of the respective software is installed.

    Description

      Expose information to the operator about the version of the SDP (the Helm chart version) and its components (the OCI image and version). This information should be presented via an attribute on the SDP controller device.

      The natural source of this information is the Helm chart itself, so we need to be able to store it when the chart is installed or upgraded and make it available to the controller.

      It would be possible to do this by using a ConfigMap to capture the version information, which could be made available to the controller directly as a file, or the data could be written into the config DB for the controller to read.

      For a proof-of-concept implementation, see draft merge requests on the LMC and integration repositories.

      • Anyone using or testing the SDP.

      What?

      • SDP version information is exposed on a controller device attribute.
      • The version information is shown on the SDP Taranta dashboard too.

      Why?

      • SDP operators have an easy way to discover which version of the SDP and its components are running.
