    Description

(Taken from Perentie wishlist "Alignment of values by decimal point" in . https://docs.google.com/document/d/18fgB3CU0OwqcyW9M6PETQT9MR6pTUwA52BQ_pbmV3q8/edit

Best practise is to align numeric values so the decimal point is vertically aligned, which facilitates quick comparison of values of different magnitudes.

Taranta currently centres the whole “Label: Value” string. An option for right-aligned could be a quick step in the right direction.

      Giorgio's comments:

This is an important aspect in usability and visual quality of running dashboards. If we want developers to produce better and better dashboards then we need to support them as much as possible.

In the relevant widgets (e.g. attribute display) we could provide user-selectable alignment options for the value of an attribute, depending on its type.

If numeric, value could be aligned to the right. An even more flexible solution could be to let the user specify a printf template (eg. https://alvinalexander.com/programming/printf-format-cheat-sheet/), and use a specific one as a default, based on the type of the (scalar) attribute.
