      A dashboard designer can:

      • define the pane, with detailed configurations of each widget and their layout within the pane (the hosting dashboard is called "original dashboard" for that pane)
      • add a link to it in 1+ dashboard (the pane will be SHARED - not copied)

      In addition:

      • the pane can be changed in only the original dashboard
      • one or more panes can be linked or defined in a dashboard
      • the original dashboard for pane A cannot contain links to A
      • panes have to have unique user-oriented names (so that they can be easily selected when linking them)
      • if the pane is defined in a dashboard that has variables, and some widget of the pane use that variable, then when linking that pane into a dashboard that has not that variable, or has a variable with same name but different tango classes, then Taranta warns the user
      • if the pane is removed from its original dashboard, then the user is warned if the pane is linked somewhere.

    Description

Enable the dashboard designer to create a shareable group of widgets across different dashboards.

The widgets are located in a rectangular area of a dashboard, with/without a visible border and background. That is a pane.

      • A dashboard can have 0 or more panes.
      • each pane can be shared by 2+ dashboards. When sharing, exactly the same widgets with the same configuration of widgets is used. Also the layout inside the pane is constant, as is the size of the pane.
      • a shared pane is "shared", not copied. So editing changes made to a pane in one dashboard will reflect to other dashboards that share that pane.

Sub-panes (i.e. panes inside panes) are out of scope.
