      • The team also contributed to Tango ecosystem by adding a small functionality in archviewer that reads and populates all databases from the chosen Timescale server each time the database selector dropdown box is clicked. This enables accessing a database that is created newly after the Archviewer deployment is done.

    Description

      MAX IV is upgrading the existing TANGO Archive-viewer, to support, among other things, access to multiple TANGO DBs.

      The MAX IV work is in progress,  most likely the results will be available by the start of PI20.

      Update: The multiple-servers branch mentioned above does not support adding new server at runtime which was anticipated by the time of planning. The FO has initiated a conversation with the tool developer for implementation of the desired functionality but there is no commitment from the developer's side yet and its unlikely to be done withing the timeframe of PI20. Hence the scope is to demonstrate extraction of data from multiple servers which are configured at time of deployment of Archiviewer and not by adding new server at runtime.
