      • Updated the FSP Corr controller device server (top-level HPS device server running on the Talon board) to calculate some of the SPEAD descriptor attributes, and implemented new commands "Configure", "StartScan", and "EndScan".
      • Re-wrote the Host LUT device server (low-level HPS device server running on the Talon board), and implemented periodic ARP requests to get the MAC address of the provided SDP receiver IP address.
      • Updated the SPEAD Packetizer (low-level HPS device on the Talon board) to
        • send SPEAD descriptor packets and stream start through UDP upon receiving the "StartScan" command, and then periodically re-send them.
        • send SPEAD end stream packets upon receiving the "EndScan" command.
      • Updated the test tools to not provide the MAC address and to not send SPEAD descriptors on behalf of the FPGA, and then successfully tested the system in the development environment.

Solution Intent documentation: MID CBF AA0.5 CBF-SDP Visibility Data Interface.

Not completed: testing in Mid-PSI environment, using the SDP receiver – see CIP-1756.

    Description

      Update the Mid CBF to:

      1. Make ARP requests to SDP to convert the LMC-provided IP address ("output_host") into a MAC address.
      2. Send SPEAD descriptor packets before sending visibilities, and re-transmit the descriptor packets periodically thereafter
      3. Send SPEAD end packets at the end of the scan

      See CBF-SDP SPEAD sequence.png

Ensure the optional output_mac field in configure_scan is handled.
