Given the compliance, security, maintenance requirements, the SRC tenant needs a stable, reliable HA cluster to serve as the infrastructure for prototype services and services supporting the prototyping activities. ClusterAPI provides a declarative approach to provisioning infrastructure, turning it into kubernetes clusters, and maintaining them via custom resource objects managed defined in a management cluster. This work will allow us to seamlessly apply patches to cluster nodes, upgrade OS, limit ingress points on the tenant, and maintain existing services as well as bring up new services/clusters to support prototyping activities faster.
