    Description

      Following the work to prototype the QA Tango device class, it needs be be developed to the point where it is integrated into the SDP control system and it can be used to monitor the health of the visibility receive pipeline via a Taranta dashboard.

      An instance of the device needs to deployed alongside each subarray because, from the point of view of the control system, visibility receive is associated with a subarray. The devices should be configured via the SDP configuration database in the same way as the other Tango devices.

      The Tango device code should be moved into the SDP LMC repository or a separate repository. If it is a separate repository, it should perhaps be called ska-sdp-lmc-qa.

      • Users and operators of the system.
      • Taranta dashboard developers.

      What?

      • Review of https://gitlab.com/ska-telescope/sdp/ska-sdp-data-exchange and supported data formats. (Possible inputs for improvements YANDA will be doing in PI 18)
      • Expose data format correctly onto Kafka queue.
      • Update Signal Display backend to include new data and support subarrays.
      • Contribute to feature definition for PI19 to implement the Tango device.

      Why?

      • Visibility receive metrics need to be published on a Tango device to be displayed on Taranta dashboards.
