    Description

      Many of the Rucio nodes added so far are 'grid storage'. To help enable astronomy sites onboard storage CYAN have looked at STORM WebDav (INAF led). It has a repo that has been tested and it has been documented.

      This is not a commitment to STORM WebDav to be integrated into Rucio so much as an opportunity to learn what is needed.

       

      Sites can run the storage manager on any VM. It can be run as a service. If exposed in a way Rucio can see it then it can be integrated. 

      This feature is to understand the approach (the interconnects etc.) and have some spikes for the team to understand aspects of Rucio. 

      We could split the feature - one aspect is to learn the other to deploy.
