      Since this feature never really got closed I have to retroactively link in the information here. So 

      https://confluence.skatelescope.org/display/SRCSC/Science+platform+matrix+and+shortlist is a space with a lot of this info, including the architectural analysis which discusses how to install the platforms.

      Scientific Assessment is the page with the discussion on the actual functionality.
