      When running visibility receive an operator (AIV engineer, commissioning scientist) should be able to follow the status of the running receive workflow. This should be made possible by providing an API that can be used to develop operator/monitoring UIs exposing this information.

      • API that provides basic status information related to the progress of running the visibility receive workflow, which might include:
        • State of progress of the workflow script (waiting for data, capturing data, finished etc)
        • The current processing block and scan IDs being executed
        • Simple statistics about the amount of data ingested and error rates
      • Update the visibility QA data model to include meta-data for plot labeling in the QA displays

    Description

      Who?

      • SDP developer, UI developer

      What? (outcomes)

      • Receive workflow writes out basic status information related to the progress of the received workflow script, scan being currently executed, statistics about the amount of data ingested etc.
      • Collaborate with development of updated visibility receive workflow (SP-2483)
      • Update the data model provided by the API to include data for plot labelling (limited to metrics for the visibility receive workflow)
      • Provide a mechanism to configure the QA metric backend to be able to configure what visibility QA metrics are plotted, taking into account selection of baselines, selection of correlation products, choice of averaging etc (limited to metrics for visibility receive)

      Other notes:

      The backend could be something like Kafka or Prometheus, we should likely ask for it to end up in either a Grafana Dashboard or a Jupyter notebook? Could also expose data as Tango attributes?
