It is highly valuable to be able to test various aspects of the PST end of the CBF-to-PST interface (e.g. data fidelity, system performance, correct handling of dropped packets, etc.) during development (i.e. before integration, in the absence of a CBF system).  To enable automated testing of the CBF-to-PST in a CI pipeline, a CBF simulator will be developed that will be capable of:

      • sending a known sequence of random samples
      • sending a previously-generated signal (e.g. read from file)
      • optionally inducing various types of data loss or failure (dropped packets, etc.)

    Description

Develop the SIM.CBF component to simulate CBF data streams that can be processed by PST's RECV component. SIM.CBF will require:

      • UDP Packet generator that produces a data streams compliant with the CBF/PSR ICD
      • Data generator that can populate the data and weights fields of the UDP packets with a predictable test vector
      • A TANGO device which exercises control and monitoring of the the packet generator
      • Integration of the TANGO device and generator into an PST sub-element level test suite.
