      Implementation of reusable code for the display and verification of signal chain test results will facilitate testing of the Mid CBF at different levels (bitstream, subsystem and system I&T). Utilizing the SKA pipelines and Central Artefact Repository (CAR) will improve configuration management and maintainability of this verification code in future.

      Implemented ska-mid-cbf-signal-verification container to generate reports in HTML. Currently it can generate Wideband State Count and BITE data reports.

      Also implemented the ska-mid-cbf-signal-verification-data-collector container for collecting data and saving it in the format expected by ska-mid-cbf-signal-verification. Currently it supports collecting Wideband State Count vectors.

      Successfully deployed both images to CAR through SKA pipelines. 

      Updated README with installation steps and usage. Added ska-mid-cbf-signal-verification to ReadTheDocs: https://developer.skao.int/projects/ska-mid-cbf-signal-verification/en/latest/

    Description

      Add signal chain outputs verification to the automated Mid.CBF AA0.5 subsystem testing – ref: automation work done under SP-2540
      With an emphasis on automation and code re-use:

      • Review the current test cases and tools used to verify the signal chain on the FPGA firmware – see Mid CBF AA0.5 Signal Chain Verification
      • Adapt/supplement the firmware test cases and tools as required, and apply them to MCS-Talon hardware-in-the-loop subsystem automated testing
      • Implement test report generation, including publication for convenient review where practical (e.g., the proof-of-concept test report that was generated using ska-mid-cbf-system-tests)
      • Integrate with XRAY test infrastructure as appropriate

      Create tools in Python as required to verify the quality of the intermediate and output products generated by the Mid.CBF signal chain. Verification can be performed against the Matlab signal model prototype or using stand alone tools.
