Feature Set Summary
By the end of PI27, the goal of this PST Epic is to develop the capability of ingesting and processing 1 or more Pulsar Timing beams, including monitor & control via CSP.LMC. PST will be capable of forming integrated pulse profiles using a system composed of partially-completed versions of the following additional PST components:
Pulsar Timing Mode (DSP):
- DSP.CORE.CTRL: add support for the Pulsar Timing mode
- DSP.CORE.CDD: partially inverts the channelisation performed by the oversampled PFBs produced by the beamformers, performs coherent dedispersion.
- DSP.CORE.FOLD: folds the signal using a simple phase predictor.
- DSP.CORE.RPCK: write PSRFITS fold-mode archives to disk
Output Data transfer (SEND):
- SEND.ADD: add support for combining PSRFITS Pulsar Timing files.
- SEND.XFER: add support for transferring Pulsar Timing output products to SDP.
External Simulator (SIM):
- SIM.SDP: simulates SDP output interface for Pulsar Timing mode, when SDP is absent
TANGO devices required for
- MGMT.DSP: adding Pulsar Timing support
- MGMT.SIM: adding Pulsar Timing support
- MGMT.SEND: add Pulsar Timing support
