      Baseline Dependent Averaging (BDA) is an approach that can reduce the visibility data volume, and associated processing and data handling costs, without affecting the information content (except for a well-understood decorrelation loss).

      As SKA SDP processing costs will almost certainly be dominated by data handling, BDA, therefore, has huge potential value to reduce costs and/or make processing feasible!

      • Timeboxed activity to continue development and analysis of a  BDA enabled imaging and calibration pipeline for the SKA use case
        • Review outcomes from work in PI11 (SP-1745) and propose and work on improvements identified such as improving the performance of BDAPredict.
      • A short report on the current state of the BDA pipeline identifying follow on work for PI13 and consideration of a roadmap to incorporate BDA processing in SKA pipelines.
