      Development of SDP pipelines (eg. SP-1549, SP-1904, SP-1905, SP-1998, and SP-1980) will require a set of SKA1 relevant, well described, accessible, and discoverable simulations and/or data sets so that can be used for testing and analysis.

      • Review the set of simulations and data sets currently available and assess the need for new data sets for the development and analysis of SDP pipelines in PI12 (and possibly attempting to look ahead to PI13).
      • Collect and document set of input parameters for any new simulations (possibly also curating this information for existing simulations if it is not easy to find)
      • Develop new simulations and create and make available data sets as appropriate (simulation scripts should always be made available in SKA Gitlab in in the simulations project)

      The new set of continuum imaging simulations that were agreed for PI12 are in Continuum imaging standard outputs.

      The process for generating the simulations is described in Continuum imaging simulations PI 12: Methodology.

      The results from imaging the simulations with the RASCIL imager to validate them are in Continuum Imaging Simulations PI 12: Results.

    Description

      Review and create a revised set of data sets and/or stimulation parameters needed to test imaging pipelines for PI12 - PI13

      Possibly consider a range of data set sizes from those appropriate for quick tests to check that the pipeline is functioning as expected to larger data sets for performance testing.
