    Description

If we need to run the VHDL-based FPGA application (mode-2) when the host server is set up for the OpenCL/OneAPI environment (mode-1) a switch between the two sets of host drivers and host codes will be needed. Studying the constraints associated with these switching processes is one aspect of this work. Also application notes in the Intel website show how to run VHDL designs as a kind of packaged function from inside an OpenCL code (somewhat like the inline assembly codes), which we should also explore. Therefore this Spike aims to review these two functions and if possible verify their suitability for PSS use with some prototype testing.
