Data Bases view

As the development of more mature products evolve, it is necessary to consolidate the management of data bases across the system. We want to adopt an holistic view to the management of data bases and as such some work is necessary to reconcile the existing designs into a coherent picture. 

In order to deliver this enabler, a team will have to: 

• Starting from the view at https://confluence.skatelescope.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=142971907 
• Populate this view with the Data Bases currently present in the architecture and as planned in the near future. These will include at least:
  • TANGO configuration data bases
  • TANGO archiver database
  • Observation Data Archive
  • Telescope Configuration databases (TMC, MCCS,...)
  • Configuration database for the SDP 
  • Logging database
  • Other monitoring databases
  • Non relational databases in use or planned 
• Populate the view highlight what software components in our architecture make use of which data base. 
• Augment the view with informations about each single database, possibly capturing the main characteristics and requirements, together with a candidate/selected technology (relational/non-relational/time series/distributed ... )  Most of these information exist in the existing design documentation. 

We envisage the Services train to work on this Enabler but it is being phrased at solution level at the moment as it will necessitate close cooperation between all ARTs.
