      To understand the P4 and SDN technologies in a safe hands on environment.
      Some de-risking of interfaces between P4 and traditional switches could be explored.
      Design decisions need to be made for parts of the network(in particular the Bulk Data Network) between traditional Ethernet switching and a Software Defined Network architecture. This activity will act as an enabler to understanding the pro's and con's each solution.

    Description

      The Perentie team have access to a lab that runs a variety of switch technologies all of which could be applicable to the SKAO. This capability has been raised to track the effort to get some of the PLANET team access to the lab and to investigate the P4 and SDN switches in the lab.
